Anyone who regularly works with wood will tell you, it is one of the most beautiful, versatile and rewarding materials in the world. It is strong, pliable, lightweight and durable. The range and hues of wood makes it a fantastic choice for a phenomenal range of applications. Treated well and finished correctly, wood will last a lifetime and beyond. Each piece of wood also tells a story, oftentimes hundreds, if not thousands of years old.
I have spent a lifetime working with wood, beginning in my Grandad’s workshop as a young boy, his hand guiding mine whilst I cut out the template for a simple toast rack. This was polished and varnished and is still in use today, some 30 years later. This sparked a passion for woodwork that led to many different projects, from handmade furniture, to toys and in recent years, a grand scale, hand-built log cabin.
In 2015, I embarked on a journey to combine this love of wood, with another passion, a love of Horology and the intricacies of watches and clocks. I set myself a goal to create a truly unique and individual timepiece from completely recycled materials. 3 years on, I would like to think that I have not only succeeded, but far surpassed my original goal.
Wristwood now offers a range of beautiful, eco-friendly watches, made from a range of different reclaimed hard wood. It is the result of 3 years of refinement, selecting the best materials and developing it into a unique and artisan product that I believe you will love just as much as we do.
We are passionate about providing you with a timepiece, built on excellence, that you will be proud to both use and wear. You will undoubtedly find that the uniqueness and artistry of the material makes it a regular conversation starter, unlike anything else we have encountered!
We hope you will join us on the ‘Wristwood Revolution’ and enjoy this beautiful, natural and eco-friendly product for many years to come.
